iOS 26 allows you to draw anime via ChatGPT in Image Playground

In the new version of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe, Apple has added support for generating ChatGPT-style images in the Image Playground app. The feature that attracted the most attention was the ability to create anime-style illustrations similar to Studio Ghibli works.
Here's What We Know
Image Playground now allows you to create images not only in the styles developed by Apple (animation, illustration, sketch), but also use ChatGPT styles: anime, oil painting, watercolour, vector and print. Users can also choose the "Any Style" mode to enter any style they want, such as Van Gogh or photorealism.

Images can be created from a text description or from an uploaded photo. However, for ChatGPT styles, you need to grant permission to send photos to OpenAI servers. Compared to Apple's local generation, ChatGPT is slower, but opens up more creative possibilities.

It's worth remembering that ChatGPT has fewer content restrictions - for example, it can generate a Studio Ghibli image or even a bloody Elmo with a knife. However, Apple warns about this and clearly states that ChatGPT creates the image.
Users of the free version of OpenAI can only create a couple of images, and then either have to wait or subscribe. But Apple's Image Playground styles remain unlimited - draw as much as you want!
iOS 26 also introduces Genmoji: the ability to create new emojis from several existing ones or from a description, which are added directly to the keyboard.
The public beta of iOS 26 will be released in July, and the final release is expected in September.
