Here's What We Know
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has announced that the Volyniaka unmanned aerial vehicle has been codified and officially approved for use in the Armed Forces. The drone, developed in Ukraine, has been operating at the front since 2022, destroying Russian dugouts, equipment and manpower.
"The Volyniaka is a reusable bombing hexacopter with six powerful, non-collectorised engines. The complex includes a control panel, pilot's goggles, a repeater and the aircraft itself. According to the defence ministry, the latest versions of the drone have improved tactical and technical characteristics that allow it to operate effectively even at dusk, in bad weather and strong winds.
In addition to hitting targets, Volyniak can perform logistical tasks, such as delivering equipment and supplies to the military in difficult combat conditions. The main task is to drop ammunition on enemy positions, and the charge's power allows it to destroy even heavily armoured vehicles.
The Ministry of Defence emphasises that the drone has shown high efficiency in combat conditions, so the official approval for operation only strengthens its role in the tactical aviation of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
